French Country Estate

The French Country Estate project was completed in late 2020 after 11 months of planning and two years of construction. The architecture of this custom home draws inspiration from the French countryside to create a timeless design with a mix of Indiana limestone, shake siding, and gorgeous paned windows. The grand shingles, metal roofs, and intricate cornice details truly bring the look of the entire home together to create a grand and luxurious estate.

The interior features include an in-ground hot tub in the primary office, a towered staircase with clear story windows, and an impeccable vaulted screened porch with exposed frame ceilings. Another favorite feature is the dog room, complete with a stainless steel shower and ramp, dog-only washer and dryers, and plenty of storage.

We worked closely with our clients and architects from the very beginning to help create a home that met all of our clients needs. While the architectural designs were in progress, we were simultaneously planning all of the mechanical systems for the home – including geothermal, water softening and filtration, and fresh air recovery systems – to ensure lasting comfort and health for its residents.

As our client is a retiring builder, they sought not only a beautiful home to bring them closer to their love of Kentucky horse country, but also a high-performance, high-quality estate home whose timeless design will last for generations.

DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS

The Hellers have done a number of projects on our house from very small (painting) to significant renovations (filling in a backyard pool and completely renovating the back porch/backyard). They are personable, attentive, professional, and fiscally responsible. Most importantly, their work is high quality. The contractors provide their cell numbers, and are extremely responsive.

In home renovations, the ‘devil is in the details’. As an example, after renovating our backyard, one of their staff would come every day for several weeks to ensure the sod and trees were irrigated properly. On one project, when an unexpected drainage issue was discovered mid-project, they presented us with options, noting the relative costs. This attention to detail really shows in the quality of their work.
